What to do when there aren’t any half marathons coming up?

Happy Hump Day!

This week is dragggggging. Everyone at work is on the count down tow the end of school which I feel like it’s making it take longer. Plus we are swamped with end of year work, making the next month super annoying and busy!ย 

Anyone, moving on!

Not to brag, but I can’t help feeling so happy that I felt so great after Brooklyn. I am working so hard to build my muscle and core strength and I really believe it has a lot to do with it.

I took Sunday as a rest day and indulged in yummy foods at my godson’s baptism.


It was such an awesome day. I feel so honored and blessed to be his godmother. I love that baby boy so much. ๐Ÿ™‚

I also squeezed in some meal prep:


That TJs sauce is new to me, SOOO good! My meal this week is Asian Veggies, chicken, quinoa, all mixed in with that sauce along with roasted eggplant on the side.ย 

Monday I had a meeting after school that got out late so I decided to head to the gym by my work. I took a spin class, did core, and shoulder work.

Tuesday it was gorgeous out so I headed out for my first run after the half!ย 


After not running for two days my body wanted to be speedy! In the middle I did a few 9:45ish miles! My goal was to do 5 miles but I ended up doing 6. After the last half, my body was not able to run like that right after. I really believe that all my strength training is just building upon itself! I am so excited!

After the run, I went to CVS and grabbed a coconut water to rehydrate. Then headed to the gym for core and stretching.

Dinner this week:



Today I had another meeting after school so I went to the gym by school. I love having that option so I can get my workout in, then head straight home and not worry about getting a workout in after sitting in traffic for an hour.ย 

I did my whole leg routine since I hadn’t done it before the half and I could hear my physical therapist in my ear haha. I also did core, back and biceps. I think back and biceps is my favorite day in terms of weight lifting.ย 

That is about it! Looking forward to a three day weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather. I am thinking of heading into Central Park for a nice long run! ๐Ÿ™‚ It feels weird to not be on a training plan right now. I have two 10ks in June and two 5ks in July but that is about it. My next half will be in September and I can’t wait! I guess this summer I will continue to work on strength training and maybe some speed work along with increasing my mileage slowly. I also am going to work on trying different fueling options for pre, during, post runs. I am planning to also buy the Whole 30 book, and maybeeeee think about trying it in August, we shall see!

So many fun things to look forward to this summer. I also have some plans for my blog/social media to work on too!

Breathe……can’t wait for June 27th…. last day of school ๐Ÿ™‚ย
