Dash to the Finish Line 5k Recap + Marathon Expo

I am so excited to recap my experience from picking up my race materials to the amazing 5k I ran today!

On Thursday night after an 8 mile run up by work I rushed home and headed right into the city to the Javitz Center where the TCS NYC Marathon Expo was being held. I didn’t realize until Wednesday that there wasn’t same day bib pick-up so I had to make a run into the city. Although it was hectic, it was a VERY cool experience. Seeing all the signs and just feeling the excitement of the marathoners. After I got my bib I only did a very quick walk around the expo because I felt like it wasn’t MY expo. Next year it will be MINE! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

How gorgeous right?!

The Brooks Changing Room! I loved it a Porta-Potty hahaha

Saturday morning I woke up around normal wake up time (5am-ish) then headed into the city ALL BUNDLED UP because it was rainy and windy and cold!

I waited at a Starbucks nearby which was awesome so I could stay warm and use the bathroom. WIN!

Starbucks Selfie.

Pic at the start. The start was by 47th between 1st and 2nd so it was on the east side.

Then I didn’t realize but we like literally ran through the streets. We ran by the NY Public Library, Grand Central all the way to Central Park. It was such a cool experience!!! I decided not to really care about a time and just take it all in, get some pics and enjoy the scenery!!

Time: 29:06 then I added on 10 realllllly cold, really wet miles! 13.1 Total for today!

And came home and had a hot shower and overnight oats in an empty almond butter jar!

Good luck to all the marathoners tomorrow!!!! You are all so inspiring!!! I will be volunteering by handing out the food bags at the finish! Stay tuned for that recap!!! πŸ™‚
