WIAW: Eating out a lot!

Happy WIAW Readers! This week I went out to a few different restaurants! Check out the tasty eats that I enjoyed this week!

Breakfasts:

 Overnight oats in an empty cookie butter jar. I never buy cookie butter because I would eat the jar in one night but my sister does so I stole her empty jar!

I got Peanut Butter & Co Smooth Operator for $2.99 at the local health food store- score!

Lunch:

 Salads Prepped for the Week:

A Portobello, Feta, Tomato, Grilled Chicken Salad from the local Diner:

Dinner:

 On my day off I had a chance to have a nice dinner out with my best friend (Hiiii!- She reads this!) We went to Raymonds in Ridgewood, NJ.

I got this really yummy 6 Vegetable Quiche and it came with a Side Salad! So yummy and a very nice price for our meal.

My meal this week:

I found this new rice from Trader Joes. It literally has the same nutritional value as Quinoa (protein, etc.) but it is $1.99 compared to the $5.99 bag of Quinoa! Score!!

I made this with a can of chicken broth to give it more flavor.

I then sautéed an onion and frozen spinach then added it to ground turkey, panko bread crumbs, milk and and egg and made 5 mini meat muffins and baked at 450 for about 40 minutes.

I also roasted broccoli, carrots and Brussel sprouts. Cooked some butternut squash and boiled eggs for breakfast.

After a long day at the hospital on Sunday my Dad and I grabbed dinner at a Greek place by us. They immediately bring you a free platter of hummus and pitas:

We then decided to try one of the appetizer specials:

It’s feta cheese, wrapped in phylo dough and then drizzled with honey. It was soooo delicous, the only problem was my first bite I should have let cool and I didn’t and now I literally still have a third degree burn on the top left of my mouth. Like legit still hurts to eat!!

I then got the Greek Salad with grilled chicken as my entrée. This is probably one of the best Greek salads I’ve ever had. (see in the next section for dessert!)

Snacks/Desserts:

TJs Herbal Tea and a Rice Cake and Cookie Butter (this was at my parent’s house).

After my Dad and I were totally stuffed from our yummy dinner at the Greek restaurant, the waitress brought out a free dessert! We couldn’t say no!

It was a custard cake drizzled with honey. Soooo delicous plus you can’t beat free food.

So for all the “going out” I did this week I still was able to indulge and keep it healthy at the same time. Even I will admit that it can hard to find balance, some days we can go overboard and overindulge or we can deprive ourselves at times. It’s important to enjoy the foods you want but also what your body wants! It’s tough to find the balance, so don’t beat yourself when you don’t!

    Yum, that all looks so good. I’m jealous you have so many people around you with cookie butter. I’m the same, if it’s in my house, it’s gone in a day.

    How do you like Arctic Zero? I always see it and want to try it.

    1. Thank you!! I like Arctic Zero- my favorite is probably the Vanilla Maple or the Coconut. But don’t eat it expecting to taste like a bowl full of creamy ice cream. I like to spice it up with fun toppings which makes it even more awesome. I’m one of those people who likes to have a night snack every night so I feel like it’s a better alternative to real ice cream every night (I totally enjoy real ice cream and fro-yo on the weekends! 😉 )
