Hello everyone! Hope you enjoyed my Cookie post! We still have some delicious cookies to munch on at home. So yummy!
Since we were having 14 people (plus a baby) for Christmas Eve I convinced my parents to forgo the 7 fishes and have a pizza party!
On Saturday we went to the store and bought the dough (no way were making it ourselves) and all the toppings: Mushrooms, peppers, olives, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, shredded mozzarella, basil, onions, gouda cheese, gorgonzola cheese, TJs grilled, chicken, arugula, Sweet Baby Rae’s BBQ Sauce, chopped walnuts, and pears. (I think that covers it!)
My dad made homemade pizza sauce a few days before too!
We took the dough out a few hours before to get it to room temperature, I hung up all my “pizza orders and schedule:”
And we were ready to roll!
We served punch made by my sister (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Appetizers were my Christmas Tree Cheeseball made with blue cheese, figs, and walnuts. My onion dip with Kettle Chips. Fresh shrimp cocktail with a homemade Thousand Island dressing made by my Dad. I didn’t get to enjoy the apps too much because I had to head into the kitchen to get the pizzas started!
Pizzas I made:
BBQ Chicken: Caramelized onions, Sweet Baby Rae’s BBQ Sauce, TJs Grilled Chicken, Gouda Cheese, and Shredded Mozz.
Pear & Gorgonzola: Caramelized onions, gorgonzola cheese, walnuts, pears, shredded mozz and after cooking added fresh arugula with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Margherita Pizza: Pizza Sauce, Fresh Tomatoes, Fresh Mozz, and Basil.
Veggie Pizza: Olive, Peppers, Mushrooms, Tomato Sauce, Fresh Mozz and Shredded Mozz.
Sausage Pizza: Pizza Sauce, Crumbled Sausage, Shredded Mozz, and Fresh Mozz.
Pepperoni Pizza: Pizza Sauce, Pepperoni Pizza, Shredded Mozz, and Fresh Mozz.
Everyone loved it!! Suggestion- the more room temp the dough, the easier it is to spread out! Note to chefs: you may not get to enjoy being with your company the whole night and you will have to eat standing up (thanks to my sister for getting my plate together 🙂 )
We also served a Ceasar Salad and Regular Salad on the side.
I assumed I would make three batches of pizza (I cooked 4 at a time) but people were good with 2 batches! It was so fun to make the pizza and hear people’s reactions to it! I was so happy to make people happy!!
After the pizza we served all my cookies and a hot chocolate bar (different types of hot chocolate, candy canes, whipped cream, and marshmallows).
With full bellies we headed to 10pm Mass and then I passed out to The Christmas Story when we got home!
Next morning we woke up and exchanged gifts! My whole family gave me such thoughtful and fun gifts! Some fun running gear/goodies and some baking goodies- all my favorite things!!
After exchanging I geared up for a “Reindeer Run” with my friend from work! I sported my new Lululemon shirt and new Pro Compression Socks and a pair of shorts because it was 50 degrees out!! We did 7 miles and had a blast enjoying the beautiful weather!
After that I headed home and cooked a Frittata for everyone with a Sweet Poatato Hash using our pizza leftovers.
Then we relaxed and watch the Christmas Story multiple times. I love that movie dearly.
Finally I got ready to head to my friend’s mom’s house for Christmas Day. I sported my new “Golden” shirt that my friend gave me for Christmas from J. Crew! How adorable right??
We hung out, watching the Christmas Story more, played with the babies that were there and munched on some cheese and crackers. After that we sat down for our feast:
A bunch of great dishes, my fav is my friend’s grandmother’s kielbasa. It is creamy and amazing and delicious and I had two helpings of it even though I was stuffed because it was that good!
After that we played our “Dork Gift” game and I scored this fabulous Wine Trivia Game:
Haha- the questions are very hard!
Selfie with one of the dork gifts hahaha
I have to admit, I totally came home and had some more of my cookies because they are just that darn good! 🙂
I have to say it was a really amazing Christmas. I really feel like I have grown up a lot and grown into a happier person. Cooking and serving my friends and family is so fun for me now. I love challenging myself in the kitchen and learning a lot from my Dad (the original Executive Chef of our Christmas Eve dinners). Christmas isn’t about the “stuff” to me anymore. It’s about spending time with loved ones and cherishing our time together. I guess it takes a few years to learn that 😉
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and enjoyed every moment with your loved ones!
