Happy Tuesday everyone! Today I am linking-up with Becky for Treat Yourself Tuesday!
The last time I linked up with her was in the Fall when I treated myself to a new Fall wardrobe. Well believe it or not, I have not bought myself any clothing since then (maybe some workout gear here and there and I think I bought a couple of sweaters around Christmas time) and boy was it time for an update! I have mentioned in other posts that I get so guilty buying myself clothing, it’s so weird. I have been like this for awhile now, I feel weird spending money on myself unless I have a gift card or something. I really need to work on that, we are all a work in progress, right? 😉
Anyway, like in the Fall, I needed new Spring/Summer clothes because since I have gotten into running & fitness and eating healthy, I have definitely lost weight, probably around 30 lbs. and have maintained that weight loss. I love that I no longer “diet and exercise” rather I fuel my body with the nutrients it needs that make me feel good and I enjoy and I exercise/run because I love it!
So… after all that explanation, I decided to plan a day during my Spring Break last week for a lunch & shopping date with my mama!
We grabbed lunch at our favorite spot: The Rolling Pin Cafe.
I got the Mesclun Salad with roasted shallots, goat cheese, and a sherry vinaigrette with a scoop of the amazing chicken salad and a side of butternut squash soup. I subbed the biscuit for their out of this world sweet potato salad. MMMMmmmm!
After we had our lunch we noticed that so many people were ordering desserts. We had never gotten dessert there before and decided to splurge and treat ourselves!
We split the Lemon Bar and Carrot Cake Cupcake, with decaf coffees. Such a delicious sweet note to our yummy lunch!
After that we took our full bellies to the mall to get to shopping!
We started in the Loft, which I have to be honest, the sales were not so great. I of course got some pieces there but I usually do way better there. After that we hit up the Gap which I found a couple of things. Then finally we ended at Old Navy for a few more great pieces!
From the Loft: two tanks, a skirt, two cardigans, a pair of shorts and a dress.
From the Gap: a pair of those new pants that are like looser and baggy and a black skirt.
From Old Navy: two pairs of fun skinny pants, a pair of leggings and a pair of flip-flops.
I came in a little over the budget that I wanted to spend, but I still did great! I now feel more ready for Spring/Summer especially for work too. I definitely need to go back to the Loft for more shorts when they are on sale because I live in them all summer and all my old shorts don’t fit at all.
