Happy Hump Day!!
It was my sister’s birthday last Thursday so we did a lot of celebrating! On Saturday night she had about 20 people over for a party. We did a bunch of appetizers and desserts, everyone’s favorite foods! I always say I could just eat a bunch of appetizers for a meal rather than a real meal, any day!
On her actual birthday we made fresh homemade pasta with a creamy pancetta and mushroom sauce.
Ice Cream Cake > Regular Cake
How sick is this painting her boyfriend made her?
Friday night baking = no cooking dinner at home. Greek salad takeout for the win!
Using my food scale for precise baking!
OK- here is a recap of all the party food!!
To start we had out with homemade hummus, homemade onion dip and a cheese platter and crackers.
Then crostini with apple, pear, and melted brie. On the right: brie, apricot, and almonds, wrapped in phylo dough.
Stuffed mushrooms and Asian meatballs. (My dad made these).
Dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon. Holy amazing!!!
To finish it all up pear and gorgonzola pizza and BBQ chicken pizza.
Then for dessert!
Magnolia Bakery Cupcakes
White chocolate and macadamia nut cookies.
Black and white cookies.
That is a wrap-up of all the party food! Everyone kept complimenting me and thanking me for everything. 🙂 It’s fun for me to cook and bake for people! I genuinely enjoy doing it! Of course we have to make WAY too much food because we are Italian and Italians feed their guests!
