Hope you all had a lovely weekend! I had a weekend of all my plans changing but it turned out to be a fun weekend anyway!
Started off with a run!
Then did a Podcast with DizRuns! Can’t wait to share with you all!
Later on I headed to the pool and read a lot of my new book: “What Alice Forgot.” SO good!
I was supposed to go into the city, however due to the extreme heat my friend and I rescheduled our date. So pizza (on the grill) and ice cream at home!
Started the morning by getting some training plans done then headed to a Spin and Burn class.
Came home, refueled and made a shopping list. I had gone to Trader Joe’s the day before for some TJ’s staples but I wanted to go to Shop Rite to take advantage of the Can Can Sale and get a more reasonable deal on some items. (Sometimes the proteins at TJs are just overpriced). Wow, are you falling asleep already to my ramble about TJs and SR, is this how you talk in your thirties???
After food shopping I whipped up some S’Mores bites for a party I was going to in the city.
Then the party got cancelled as soon as I finished baking! Womp, womp.
Headed to the pool for a little bit and figured out some plans to meet up with friends in the city anyway!
We had dinner at Westville Hudson, it was SO good! I got their Market Plate, which you can pick 4 side type dishes. There are SO many awesome choices. I got the tofu & broccoli, pesto mashed potatoes, beets with goat cheese & walnut and asparagus with parmesan.
I brought my S’more bites for our walk to the mini golf place.
Gorgeous views as we golfed.
Of course, good company!
After staying out late and sleeping in a bit I decided to make it a rest day. My day was pretty low key, enjoyed some pool time of course.
Then of course we celebrated National Ice Cream day at a new place (to me) called Ice Cream by Mike in Hackensack, which is ranked Top 10 ice cream in NJ and it lived up to the hype. The man makes it himself in the store which makes it so good. I got the banana and chocolate with hot fudge and Reese’s Pieces. It was SO good.
That was a wrap-up of my weekend: sun and good food, my idea of a great weekend!
Did you celebrate National Ice Cream Day? What did you get?
