My name is Andrea. I began running in June 2013 when my friend asked me to sign up for the Electric Run 5k in Brooklyn. I decided why not and trained for it. I downloaded the Couch 2 5k program on my phone and began the walk/run method to eventually build up to running 3 miles.
After the 5k I was hooked and I began to increase my mileage. I completed my first half marathon on April 13, 2014 in Central Park. It was one of the most fulfilling and amazing experiences of my life.

After the More/Fitness Half I was hooked on long distance running and I ran a few other half marathons including the NYC Half Marathon.
During the NYC Half where I PRed: 1:56:27
From there I completed the 9 + 1 program to get guaranteed entry into the NYC Marathon on November 1, 2015.
Yes, they put me in the commercial. 🙂
The New York City Marathon was the most incredible experience. From the training to the race to the crowds to the support of my friends and family. I will never ever forget that day.
I have also begun my journey in the fitness world by getting my NASM Certified Personal Training Certificate. I am also AFAA, Schwinn and Les Mills Body Pump Certified. I started my own at home personal training company, Train2Golden LLC and teach Indoor Cycling at New York Sports Club, all alongside my full time job of being a teacher.
